The Accommodation
Fales on the western side accommodate up to four, all with fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, hot shower and overhead fans.

ACTIVITIES
The surrounding sea, inside two coral barrier reefs and the effects of trade winds allow guests to enjoy an exceptional climate and gives the opportunity for great windsurfing, with a professional school, kite surfing and sailing; more expert watersport enthusiasts can windsurf or surf the nearby spots, E.T.s, LOONIES, SHARKIES, LIGHTHOUSE, PASSRIGHT and RAZORS, just five minutes by boat from the resort on the waves generated by the north swells.
Scuba divers can enjoy the rich flora and fauna of the pacific ocean, cave dives or drift dives around one of the best locations of the Kingdom of Tonga and just few minutes by boat from the resort like the Ha’atafu Cave, the Duff Reef wall with big fishes and sharks. A wreck just off the island can take you back to 1915 steam powered vessels era.
The village of 'Atata is renowned for its fishing prowess. The inhabitants have been fishing for Yellowfin and Skipjack tuna, Wahoo, Mahi-mahi and Marlin from open boats for over 100 years. Similarly, sport fishermen and women have the opportunity of fishing the well known Duffs Reef, and surrounding fishing grounds.
Royal Sunset Sport Fishing caters for experienced, serious anglers, and for those who would like to try, learn, and have fun, on the virtually untouched waters of Tongatapu. Our Arvor20 brand new will make your fishing experience something to remember.
From July to October humpback whales migrates from cold south to warmer Tonga's water. During this period they don't feed, they come here to calf and mate. The singing males can be clearly heard from underwater and whales encountered on their migration path here at Atatà.
Other activities include snorkelling, village visits, island cruising and town safaris.
‘ATATA’ ISLAND
The peculiar shape of the island make this place unique.
The long tiny land extending from the main island body, hosting a fishing village, is the location of the resort. This sharing of Atatà gives Royal Sunset a cultural aspect rarely found in other tourist destinations.
The friendly villagers let guests enjoy local entertainment, kava parties , and many aspects of the relaxed “fakatonga”, the Tongan way. In the village visitors can find two churches, a school, and a plantation.
