Pangaimotu Island Resort is a small island just 10 minutes by boat from Nukualofa Wharf. The resort offers four rather dischevelled traditional thatch bungalows, each with double bed with mosquito net, private bathroom (cold water only) and sitting area. There's a restaurant / bar area offering cold drinks and all day meals. The island is most popular as a day trip destination with a good beach and decent snorkelling around a ship wreck.

Pangaimotu Island is a popular day trip destination, especially on Sundays when local Tongans come here for a day out. There are four to five daily ferries from Queen Salote Wharf. Guests arriving in the early hours of the morning can be picked up that night and taken to the resort without having to spend a night in Nukualofa (extra charge applies for ferry transfers). Once on the island, guests can take the ferry to Nukualofa as many times as they wish (no extra charge) to explore Tongatapu or enjoy a day of shopping in Nukualofa.
